MishList — Terms of Use

This is a small app made by two people in Vancouver. These terms are written in
plain language rather than legalese, and they are deliberately short.
1. What MishList is
MishList is a personal app for saving places you want to go and remembering places
you've been. You can share a list with someone else so you both keep it up to date.
2. Your data is yours
Your lists, places, notes, photos and memories belong to you. They are stored on
your device and synced through your own iCloud account. We do not have a copy of
them and cannot read them. If you delete the app, that data goes with your device
and your iCloud.
3. What our server does and doesn't see
The app talks to our server only to look things up: searching the public place
catalog, loading the Discover feed, and — if you use Smart Capture — reading a
place out of text you paste.
Text you paste into Smart Capture is sent once to an AI provider to extract the
place details, and is not stored by us afterwards.
If you choose "Share to web", the list you publish becomes a public page at a link
you can share. Only lists you explicitly publish are ever public. You can unpublish
at any time.
4. The place catalog
The Vancouver place information in the app comes from open data: Overture Maps,
OpenStreetMap contributors, and the City of Vancouver. It may be incomplete or out
of date. Opening hours in particular change often. Please check with the venue
before relying on anything important.
Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.
5. Acceptable use
Don't use MishList to break the law, harass anyone, or publish content you don't
have the right to publish. If you share a list publicly, you're responsible for
what's in it.
6. This is beta software
MishList is currently in testing. Things may break, and features may change or
disappear. We provide the app "as is", without warranties, and we're not liable for
any loss arising from using it. Keep your own copies of anything you can't afford to
lose.
7. Ending things
You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it. We may suspend the service —
for example, if running it becomes impractical — and we'll try to give notice if
that happens.
8. Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
